My Top 10 Favorite Celebrity Weddings

May 27, 2009

Being someone who loves love, I thought that I would share my top 10 celebrity wedding picks. Some are superficial. Some are achingly romantic. Some are fun. Some are over the top. Regardless, celebrity weddings are fastinating!

Here are my top 10 picks with a little description as to why their my favorite (in no particular order):

1. Grace Kelly and Prince Rainer III of Monaco (married April 18, 1956) - True love! They married in a real palace. She became a real princess. And there was lots of lace!

2. Carolyn Bessette and John F Kennedy (married September 21, 1996) - The picture of John kissing Carolyn's hand, and her looking at him with a giant grin, as they are walking out of that tiny candle lit church on Cumberland Island is breathe taking. Every girl wants that.

3. Lady Dianna Spencer and Charles, Prince of Wales (married July 29, 1981) - Every little girl, hopeless romantic, bride-to-be and married woman watched this fairy-tale wedding (even if they had to stay up late to watch it), gazing at the most beautiful princess they have ever seen, or will ever see again. She was stunning! And the carriage was pretty awesome!

4. Eva Longoria and Tony Parker (married July 7, 2007) - Just 3 things: Cool wedding date (7/7/07), Paris and pure happiness!

5. Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman (married November 19, 2005) - I LOVED the large amount of roses and all of the colors of roses she used to decorate their traditional Jewish ceremony. And the icy winter themed reception was amazing. Kudos to her decorators! Plus, I really think she and Jordan really like and love one another. That's always nice.

6. Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell (married July 14, 2007) - I love this wedding because they did it their way. It was the coolest, most laid back wedding ever! They got married on their ranch with their guests sitting on quilt covered hay bails. Their dogs wore bow ties and walk the aisle. They decorated with gingham and wildflowers. Her bouquet was wrapped in green and while gingham! So cute. And instead of a wedding cake, they served apple pie and red velvet cupcakes.

7. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi (married August 16, 2008) - They did it. And they did it well. I would have loved to have been a guest at their wedding. Oh, and I absolutely loved Portia's dress.

8. Priscilla Beaulieu and Elvis Presley (married May 1, 1967) - At that time, she was the luckiest girl in the world and had the best cat-eye make-up ever!

9. Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick (married May 19, 1997) - They secretly married and she wore black. Cool.

10. Courtney Cox and David Arquette (married June 12, 1999) - They are soulmates, very quirky and love to laugh. They were married by Desi Arnez and Lucille Ball impersonators.

Now that I have completed my list, I've realized there's a theme here - do what makes you happy and shows your personality. When I started this blog entry I didn't realize there would be a lesson in it. Too cool! I hope you enjoyed it and can take something away from it.

Happy Planning!
